These are the steps to installing Brutal Doom/HDoom on your computer.
Installing Brutal Doom On Steam Locomotives
The complete megahit game that set the world afire. Plus All-New Episode IV: Thy Flesh Consumed. The demons came and the marines died. You are the last defense against these hell-spawned hordes. Prepare for the most intense mutant-laden, blood-splattered action ever! Both can find the Doom data files directly in the Steam folders, so you can just unzip them anywhere, run the exe, and it works. Don't hesitate to browse their respective wikis a bit for further info. There are plenty of other ports worthy of being given a look but the others will need you to put a copy of the Doom IWADs in their directory. EDIT: Got it working so Steam launches Brutal Doom AND it keeps track of my hours. I used Doom II if you're curious. Followed the steps in the comment: Go buy Doom games on Steam. Go download sourceport. I use Zandronum. Go download Brutal Doom Mod. Install Doom games and browse for them in explorer.
